Cecilia Picon

 

Cecilia Picon was born in Merida, Venezuela. She received her BFA from Universidad de Los Andes in Merida, and an MFA from the Academia de Bellas Artes de Caracas. Picon worked as the Editor and Chief for the weekly magazine “Mujer-Mujer” and El Diario de Caracas” and studied and danced ballet for 20 years. 

In New York, she attended Parson’s School of Design and Hunter College. 
She has dedicated her life to promoting the defense of women’s rights through the family foundation “Torres Picon Foundation” which co-chairs with her husband.

Picon is a Mixed Media artist and a jewelry designer. She has lived in New York with her husband and son for the last ten years.
